Lamar Jackson listed as doubtful for pivotal Ravens-Packers showdown
The Baltimore Ravens are facing a make-or-break situation heading into Saturday’s critical matchup against the Green Bay Packers, and uncertainty at the quarterback position has only raised the stakes. Lamar Jackson has officially been listed as doubtful for the game after missing his third straight practice this week due to a lingering back injury, casting serious doubt over Baltimore’s chances of keeping its slim playoff hopes alive.
Jackson has not played at all in 2025 and was sidelined during the second half of last week’s loss to the New England Patriots. On Thursday, the Ravens confirmed that he again did not participate in practice, making his availability increasingly unlikely. If Jackson is ruled out, Tyler Huntley is expected to make his second start of the season for Baltimore.
Complicating matters further, Huntley’s primary backup, Malik Willis, is also listed as questionable. Willis missed Wednesday’s practice due to illness but returned in a limited capacity on Thursday. In addition to the illness, he is dealing with a right shoulder issue and must still clear protocol before being deemed available. If Willis cannot go either, Baltimore’s depth at quarterback would be stretched thin.
The Ravens enter Saturday’s game at 7-8, needing almost everything to go right to remain in the playoff picture. They no longer have a path to a wild-card spot, meaning their only hope lies in winning the AFC North. For that to happen, the Ravens must beat the Packers and then defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers in the season finale. They would also need the 9-6 Steelers to lose both remaining games against the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore.
Lamar Jackson’s injury clouds Baltimore’s playoff hopes as quarterback uncertainty grips both teams
There is also a do-or-die scenario looming this weekend. If the Steelers defeat the Browns on Sunday, Baltimore would be mathematically eliminated from playoff contention before even taking the field against Pittsburgh, rendering the season finale irrelevant.
Green Bay, meanwhile, has its own quarterback issues. Starter Jordan Love remains in concussion protocol after suffering a head injury in last week’s loss to the Chicago Bears. The Packers listed Love as questionable on Thursday, and his status will likely go down to the wire. If Love is unable to play and Willis is also unavailable for Baltimore, Green Bay may be forced to elevate Clayton Tune from the practice squad to start.
Tune, a third-year pro, has limited NFL experience. He has thrown just 23 career passes, with only two of those coming since the 2023 season. Asking him to start a high-stakes road game against a desperate Ravens team would be a significant gamble.
Despite the uncertainty, the Packers have far more at stake in the playoff race. At 9-5-1, Green Bay is in position to clinch a postseason berth and even has an outside shot at the NFC North title. To overtake the 11-4 Chicago Bears, the Packers must win their final two games and hope Chicago loses both remaining matchups against the San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions.

Saturday’s game will not be easy regardless of who is under center. The Ravens, even short-handed, will be playing with urgency, knowing their season could effectively end within hours. Green Bay, on the other hand, must navigate injuries at the most important position while trying to keep pace in a tight division race.
With Lamar Jackson unlikely to play, multiple quarterbacks questionable on both sides, and playoff implications hanging in the balance, the Ravens-Packers clash shapes up as one of the most unpredictable and pressure-filled games of the weekend.
